Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!

Today the kids and I celebrated Dr. Seuss' 108th birthday! Everything about today was Dr. Seuss. Our food, clothes, the records we listened to, the movie we saw, and of course the books we read. We started the day off by eating breakfast.
Strawberry Jam Fish: Mcelligots Pool (toast cut in the shape of a fish with jam)
Ape's Grape Cakes: Oh say can you say (Fresh grapes)
Moose Juice: Sleep Book (orange juice)
After breakfast we got ready and started on some crafts I planned out, and of course I forgot to get pictures of them, (just like our food) but everything turned out wonderful. We had such a blast doing our art projects while listening to Dr. Seuss stories on our record player. And then we headed off to The Lorax. The kids have really wanted to see this movie and the fact that it came out on Dr. Seuss' birthday was too perfect! The movie was fabulous and the kids had such a wonderful time, not to mention all the people getting a kick out of us all decked out! HAHA! After the movie we came home and had lunch.
Finney's Diner Finest Fish: Oh say can you say (Fish)
Cheese Trees: Fox in Socks (Cubed cheese with toothpicks stuck in a styrofoam cone)
Apples: 10 Apples up on top (I sure hope that this is self explanitory)
After Lunch we all cuddled up in Zach and my bed and read book after book. Early this week I went to 3 differnt libraries stocking up on all the Dr. Seuss Books I could get my hands on. And finally after a hour or 2 of reading and rereading all the Dr. Seuss Books, it was dinner time.
Poodle eating Noodles: Fox in Socks (spaghetti)
Truffula Fruit: The Lorax (a GIANT tray of assorted fruit)
Butterside down bread: The Butter Battle book
and for dessert...
Schlopp with a Cherry on top : Oh the thinks you can think (yogurt, banana, granola, and of course a cherry on top!)
It really was a wonderful day. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been having Zach here with us, or us with him in warm Florida. Can't wait to have many more adventures and parties like this in Florida!!!

Our Day(s) of Love

Since we found out that Zach would be leaving for training the day before Valentine's Day, I planned everything out so we could celebrate a couple days early. We had a wonderful time just being together. We had amazing food and took some time to do another "photo booth" session. We found out the day before Zach was supposed to leave that he actually would have 1 more week before training, so we were EXTREMELY excited that we were able to spend another day celebrating love! The kids got all dressed up again, we had waffles with strawberries and raspberries for breakfast, and after we finished eating I thought that it would be fun to build a giant fort with lights and everything, for all of us to play in. The kids loved it! My mom-in-law offered to watch the kids for us so we could go to dinner and have a little alone time, which was so wonderful! It was an amazing evening and I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine. I love you Zach!!These were Zach's Valentine gifts that I made. I love how the lightbulbs turned out. I had never hollowed out a bulb, so I was a little nervous, but it all worked out great. The kids made the color canvas almost entirely by themselves. All I did was glue on the crayons. The cork map is my favorite. It has different colored pins that represent the places we have called home, the places we have visited together, and the places we would like to travel to as a family. I can't wait to fill up this map with more places that we have had adventures at.

Always an Adventure!!!

It looks like we are in for another adventure!!! Zach was offered a job in Florida, so it looks like we are moving across the country AGAIN! We are very excited for this new opportunity, but of course we are a little nervous. We have never been to Florida, so we have no idea what to expect. We don't know anyone who lives there, so like always, we are going in blind. We are excited to be back in a tropical climate, since we never really have been able to get used to the dryness and cold that Utah has welcomed us with. Zach is scheduled to leave for training the day before Valentines. so it looks like we will be apart once again on the day of love. I think that we have only ever been together on 3 valentines the entire time we have been together, which is 8 years. But this is an opportunity that we couldn't turn down. We will be apart again, this time for 2 months, but we will be reunited in paradise, which I have a hard time complaining about. I am so grateful for all that Zach does to make our lives so adventurous and wonderful. We have been able to live all around the U.S., each place bringing unforgettable memories that have been life changing. Now we will be able to explore a new state, meet new people, and make new memories. We will miss our family and friends, but we are looking forward to this change.

Going to the Ball

I found out about a Princess Ball and I immidiately bought tickets for Marley and Z. I bought them about 3 weeks before the event and Marley asked me every single morning if daddy was taking her to the ball that day. She was so excited that she was going to be going to an actual ball with her "Prince Charming" (aka Daddy). Finally the day arrived and she couldn't have been more excited! She was able to wear her fancy ball gown and she even wanted to practice dancing with her big brother. Zach got home from work and got dressed in his best and they left for the ball. Unfortunately the place was completely overbooked and it was so crowded that Zach and Marley ended up staying in a corner upstairs for most of the time. They did dance a few times on the dance floor, got a little plate of fruit, but Marley called it quits pretty early, so when they got home we all went out for frozen yogurt. I am so glad that my baby girl had such a wonderful man take her to her very first ball!
