X-Mas Party and The Park

Saturday we went to Z's Work Family Christmas Party. It was a blast! They had all kinds of activities and movies for the kids to watch. And then Santa came! Boston was hilarious, as you can see in the pictures! And Marley didn't react the way we thought she would. She was totally and completely calm with Santa and when he gave her present to her she was all smiles! Boston had way too much built up energy and so we took him to the park after the party. It was a great day!
Marley LOVES sucking on her toes!
HILARIOUS!
Everytime I see this picture I just crack up laughing!
She was so calm!

Boss wouldn't even look at him in the eyes!
She loved to grab his beard and pull

His favorite thing....The Big slide

Boston thought he was so big until he realized no one was holding him
And then he freaked out!

Harmony and Brody's Trip

Zach's sister Harmony and her hubby Brody came out to visit us this past week over Thanksgiving! It was so much fun having them here and finally having a chance to really get to know both harms and brodes. They are quite the entertaining couple as you can tell from the pictures. We were able to hike diamond head, go to Hanauma Bay, go to Kailua Beach a couple of times, go to the Swap Meet, Z went surfing with them down in Waikiki, and TONS more! This year my birthday landed on Thanksgiving, and so it was a lot of fun to have some family here. It was a great day! I made a big classic Thanksgiving Dinner with LOTS of desserts. We had a great time and we sure miss harms and brodes already!
Our Family at Kailua Beach

Marley was so happy that she could now wear sunscreen and be out in the sun with all of us! She went in the ocean for the first time while Harms and Brodes were here and she loved it!

Boston loved holding Marley on his lap while they were in his raft
Brody working hard on his sand castle that Boston later destroyed
Boss loved playing soccer with brody and Z

Boston couldn't wait to destroy the sand castle that Brody made
Our cute beach baby Marley
Boss was so tired after being at the beach from 9:30am-5:00pm

Please Don't kill me Harms for putting this up, but it was WAY too funny! I love Harmony's goofy personality!

Thankful

I am thankful for way too many things to mention but some of the most important things are (my faith in) Jesus Christ, my son Boston, my daughter Marley, and my husband Zach. I wouldn't be the person I am today without each and every one of them.

Trip Down Memory Lane

video

One of the downfalls of being a military family is moving around so much. This video was taken at our back door in Virginia Beach. Boston woke up every morning and waited by the door for these Geese to come and say hi. They came EVERY single morning and afternoon once he woke up from his nap. This is one thing I really miss.

A trip down memory lane

video

This is another old video that I found of Boston. This is when we were stationed in Virginia Beach. I was blowing in his face and he thought it was hilarious!

Old Memories

video

I found this old video of Boston. We took this right after we moved here to hawaii so Boston wasn't even 1 yet. It was his first time in the swings and as you can tell, he loved it!

Nics Blog

I have started a blog just of my own to talk about my inspiration, recipes, clothes, quotes, music, etc...so if you want to check it out go to nicshappyplace.blogspot.com

Fun at home

Me and the kids have had a blast these past few days just playing at home. I took down a huge mirror that we had and leaned it up against the wall so the kids can look at themselves. Its so funny to see marley looking at all the reflections and Boston just keeps kissing himself in the mirror. HAHA! Boston has also be obsessed with the laundry basket. He even wanted to take his nap in it. He put a big pillow in the bottom of it and then got a blanket and layed down and tried to pretend he was asleep so he would have to go to sleep in his bed.

Growing Up

I'd like to announce that Marley is now sitting up on her own. She is getting so big, so quick! I feel so guilty that only my mom and Z's mom have been able to meet her. Everyone was ablt to meet Boston by the time he is was 2 months, but hopefully more people will be able to come visit so they can see her before she grows up to big!

Veteran's Day

Since Z had work off we decided to spend the day at home taking it easy! We let Boss play in the sprinklers and on his waterslide, while Marley just sat and watched from her stroller. Seriously...she is so observant! Z entertained Boston with the HUGE bubbles and spraying him with the hose. It was a relly fun and relaxing day! We are so lucky that we are able to live in a place that allows us to play in the sprinklers and be outside all day 2 weeks before thanksgiving!

Forever Grateful

Today is Veteran's Day and I don't think I could even begin to express how grateful I am for my freedoms. I have never really truly appreciated what the men and women of the armed forces do, until I married a man in the Navy. Zach, THANK YOU! Thank you for all you do for our family and for this country. Thanks to all of our friends that we have met who are in the military and all of those that we don't know. You give up so much, sometimes even your own life, inorder to LET us have the life that we do. I love you Zach so much and I am so proud to be married to a man who serves in the military! (Plus.... it doesn't hurt that you look so darn good in your uniform!) God Bless America!

The NEW me!!!

Yesterday I decided to make a change. Not only in appearance, but in my life. From this moment on I will try as hard as possible to be an eternal optimist! I no longer want to view my life as anything but positive! I no longer want to raise my voice at my kids or my husband. I no longer want to dwell on the past. I no longer want to gossip or be negative in any way. I no longer want to let my stubborness get in the way of forgiving and forgetting. I no longer want to be the old Nicole! I want to introduce all of you to the new, improved, and much happier, Nicole. She is a gal who will make you smile, laugh, and make sure that you leave feeling 100 times better then you did. I am going to be the person that you can talk to and not worry about being judged in any way!!! I will still be honest, but I will do it will only love and support!!! I am from this moment on a better mom. My kids will never have to worry about me sitting on the side lines while they play. I will be right on the floor with them. I will be apart of every aspect of their life, as long as they want me. I don't want to miss another moment of happiness that I would have otherwise missed. No amount of time will be wasted because of sulking or feeling sorry for myself. I choose today to be happy and I choose today to be a better me. Today is going to be a great day!!!

Halloween Night

As you all know Boston and Marley both had adorable costumes to wear for halloween! But right as I was trying to put Boston's on him, he started FREAKING OUT!!! Anytime his costume even got close to him he would start screaming and crying. He then went into his room and took down his Utah Utes jacket and tried to put it on. He absolutely refused to wear anything else, and so our family ended up all dressing up as Ute Fans. And to top it off Utah won the Blackout game against Wyoming! We had a lot of fun at our ward halloween party. They always go all out with performers, a huge dinner, games, costume contest, booth decoration contest, etc. It was a blast. The theme was the "Yellow Brick Road" and if any of you know me I am absolutely obsessed with The Wizard of Oz and so it was a ton of fun! Boston had a blast getting candy from everyone, but he still refuses to eat any kind of sweets, which really is a blessing. All in all, it was a great night!

Best Friends

I love to watch how close Marley and Boston have become. Marley is constantly watching Boston's every move and Boston always makes sure Marley is involved in whatever he is doing... Even if its taking the time to show her his Buzz Lightyear. SO CUTE!

Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek at Marley's Halloween outfit.

One little monkey jumping on the bed

Step 1: Look over the edge of the bed
Step 2: Fall directly on your face
Step 3: Wait until someone gives you sympathy

This afternoon while Marley was sleeping and Z was still at work, Boston and I decided to have some mommy/son time since we haven't been able to for quite some time. We had a blast jumping on the bed, eating apples, reading books, playing dinosaurs, and racing cars. Thanks for such a great time Boss. I love you little man!

SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!

We are so excited for the next couple months. Zach's sister Harmony and her husband Brody are going to be coming out here in November and spending thanksgiving (and my birthday) with us. I also just found out that my parents are going to be coming out here Dec 9th. I can't wait!!! They are doing a cruise around the islands and so they are going to be staying with us for a few days before the cruise and after. I am so excited! My dad, Harms, and Brodes haven't met Marley yet and haven't seen boston since March and so it will be so fun to spend some time with them. Can't wait you guys!!!

Boston + Dog = Will Smith in Hitch

Boston about 5 minutes after he touched the dog
Boston as soon as we got home. About 15 minutes after he touched the Dog.

Look at the poor guy!

Believe it or not...He actually got worse after this picture was taken!

Any of you ever seen the show Hitch, with Will Smith? You know the part where he has an allergic reaction and his whole face swelled up....well that was Boston this past weekend. We were at the beach park watching the sunset when Boston wanted to pet a dog. I thought that it would be ok since I had wet wipes and anitbacterial stuff with me. BOY WAS I WRONG! Within minutes he started to get "puffy" and after about 15 minutes his entire face has swelled up. I put him in the bath and gave him allergy medicine and the next day his eyes were still swollen shut. Poor kid. It took 2 days for all the swelling and everything to go down. It was so sad to see him trying to play and be "normal" when he couldn't even keep his eyes open. A few times he even ran into the walls because he couln't quite see them. He is such a trooper. I feel so bad that he got my allergies and I am praying and hoping that Marley won't be as bad as me and Boston.

Family Pictures August 2009

We had some family pictures taken at a lagoon down the street from our house in August after Marley was born. I absolutely LOVE them. Jayfel (our photographer) is just starting to get into photography and so she did all of these for free and put them all on a disk for us for free. I think that she is very talented and I am so happy that we were able to meet her!

3rd Anniversary

On Wednesday Zach and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary. We were lucky enough to be able to spend the whole day together!(Z worked monday, while everyone had it off) We decided to go up to the North Shore to see the temple and go to the visitors center. Once we got to the Temple grounds we walked around and took some pictures. I met a sister missionary who actually went to Alta. (graduated the same year I did) After taking pictures and hanging out for a while Z told me that his present to me was a new set of scriptures with my name on them. I was SOOOO EXCITED! My scriptures that I got forever ago from my parents were taken from the seminary building senior year and so Z new how much I wanted a new pair. So I was able to pick out a pair and then go to BYUHawaii bookstore to have my name put on them . It was by far one of the most thoughful gift anyone has ever given to me. After we got done at the bookstore we went to Hukilau beach and had a blast! We then came home, had some dinner, attempted to watch "our" movie, The Notebook, but soon realized its not the same with a 2 year old running around, so we stopped it and decided to try to watch it this weekend once Boston went to bed. It was a GREAT anniversary and I feel so blessed for such an amazing husband! I love you so much Z and I am so glad that you picked me to spend eternity with. I know these first 3 years wasn't what either of us expected, but it has been an amazing adventure. Thanks for all you do and thankyou for giving me 2 amazing kids. I love you so much!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Moanalua Gardens

Sunday morning we took the kids on a walk around Moanalua Gardens. It is absolutely gorgeous there! It has the cottage that Prince Kamahemea lived in before he was made king and moved to the palace. It was a ton of fun, but SOOOOOO muddy. Thanks Z for taking some incredible pictures of me and the kids!

Dinner at the Park

Saturday night we decided to go to Kee'hi Lagoon Park just a couple minutes down the road from us for a picnic. We had a blast...that is until it started to rain on us. But I think that I still got a few fun pictures! Especially the one of boston talking on his phone....Doesn't that just give you a glimps of what the future holds for me. HAHA!

A typical morning

A typical morning in the Reich house consists of....Waking up WAYYY to early, Diaper changes, breakfast, Boston trying to take off his clothes, Boston playing with his cars and Dinosaurs, playing peek-a-boo, Boss wanting to hold marley, and of course Boston getting into some kind of trouble. This particular day he decided to climb up his spiderman chair to get into our sink, in order to get to our toothbrushes, where he then stood and looked at himself in the mirror smiling and chew on our toothbrushes, until he realized I was in the room with him. He will then slowly turn towards me and give me the biggest smile he possibly can in hopes that it will soften me up, which unfortunately it usually does.

Beach Day

On saturday we decided to take the kids down to waikiki. We walked around down by the beach and stopped by a really fun playground, where Boston made a new friend, Brandon. After the park we went to this little man-made swimming area behind the Hilton Hotel. Its really fun. They dug out this huge hole and filled it with ocean water and put a ton of fish in it. So we don't have to worry about waves or anything, which is really nice. Boston loved it! Next time we are going to have to bring a net so he can try to catch some little fish. And of course Marley was all smiles! She is so easy going, and is up for anything we drag her to.

Boston Turns 2

WARNING!!! TONS OF PICTURES!!!

We had a great time celebrating Boston's birthday today! Its hard to believe that my baby boy is already 2 years old. It seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms at the hospital. And ironically we started the day off at the hospital. We had to meet with the oral surgeon this morning one last time to check up on his gums and teeth. After that I took Boston to a Bouce House place where they have 3-4 different bouce houses, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and arcade games. He had a blast! After playing for a couple hours we ate some lunch and then came home so Boss could take his nap. After he got up from his nap we opened presents. He is one spoiled kid! He got a ton of Dinosaurs and other Zoo animals, cars, race tracks, spiderman punching bag, books, clothes, shoes, bubbles, sprinkler, blowup toys, ninja turtles with car, etc... Thanks to all those who sent presents, giftcards, cards, and texts! We are so appreciative! After presents we did dinner...Boston's favorite..Bowtie Pasta with alfredo sauce and broccoli. Then it was cake time. I made Boss a Dinosaur cake this year, and he loved it. He was so cute doing his "practice blows" before we lit the candles. It was a wonderful day! We are so grateful for Boston. He is such a blessing in our lives! We love you Boss!!!

Boston's Pre-Birthday Celebration

So we decided to celebrate Boston's Birthday on Saturday since the 28th is on a monday and Z works all day. We were planning on having his birthday party theme be ninja turtles, but lately he has been completely obsessed with dinosaurs so we changed it. We started the day by taking him to the Bishop Museum in Waikiki that had a Dinosaur exibit. It wasn't just any plain old dino exibit, with lots of bones...It was sooooo much more! They had really looking dinosaurs that were really big and they moved and made noises! It took Boss a while to warm up to the meat eaters, but he ran straight towards the plant eaters! They must have looked so much nicer, plus they weren't as loud. But after a while he ended up loving all of them, even the huge scary t-rex. It was so much fun! We bought Boston a ton of dinosaurs with the gift card that he got from my sister, niece, and bro-in-law (THANKS GUYS!!!) Before I was able to put them all away to wrap Boston was playing with them all making all the dino noises. It was so cute! After the Dino exhibit we went to the science building that had a ton of fun things. And of course, it wouldn't be a typical Reich Family outing without someone getting hurt. Boston ended up falling and hitting his chin and jaw on some stairs and his sippy cup and so now he has some pretty mean bruises, but we are just glad we didn't spend the day in the ER again. So after the museum, lunch, and nap time, we took Boss to one of his favorite places, the pool. We had a blast just hanging out and Marley was so good just chilling in the stroller looking around. It was a great pre-birthday celebration and we got tons of fun pictures! Monday, (Boss's actual b-day) he has to go into see the oral surgeon again to get more update on his teeth from his accident, and then I am going to take him to a bounce house place and then the park. We will do presents and cake when Z gets off work so i will post more birthday stuff next week.

Thunderbird Airshow

Over the weekend we took the kids over to Hickam Airforce Base (which is across the street from our house) to see the Thunderbird Airshow. It was alot of fun, but ridiculously HOT! Boston had a blast cooling off in the mist areas. Boston and Z got to got onto some airplanes and then after we watched the airshow. Boston thought that it was sooooo cool! He loved it! Boston and Marley also went on a bus for the first time and Boston was loving every minute of it! It was a fun day and we are glad that we are able to take the kids to all of these fun events.

Sleeping Angels

So this morning, all Boston wanted to do was be with Marley. He wanted her to sit by him so he could play "cars" with her. He kept trying to get her to hold onto his monster truck and make car noises. It was so cute! Then when it was Marley's nap time Boston wouldn't let me put her down. He kept saying he wanted her. So I laid her down with him and they both fell asleep. I don't think I have ever seen anything so cute in my entire life! Marley kept putting her hand up to Boston's face and they both kept trying to hold eachother's hand. It was heaven on earth seeing the two of them together like that!

Marley is 3 Months old Today

I can't believe that my little baby girl is already 3 months old. Time has just flown by. Life has been crazy with 2 kids! With diaper changes, feedings, reflux, ER visits, beach time, pictures, zoo, visits from family, etc....Its been a crazy 3 months! We are so grateful for our sweet Marley. She is such a blessing in our lives. I am so lucky to have such an amazing family! I have 2 of the greatest kids in the world and a husband that is more then I could have imagined. I love you Z, Marley, and Boston!

A visit from Grandma Wendy

Warning!!!! LOTS OF PICTURES!!!

So Z's mom, Wendy, came out to visit this past week. She was able to be here over her birthday so we made sure to do candles and cupcakes, even though it was a day late, due to Boston's ER visit. Z was able to spend some good one-on-one time with his mom while she was here. He took her snorkeling at hanauma bay, played in the big waves on the north shore, played down in waikiki, went to the swapmeet, etc. Her last day here we were all able to go to the zoo and eat dinner down at the cheesecake factory in waikiki. We had a blast! Of course Boston's favorite place is the zoo, and so we were glad we were able to go! I sure hope that Wendy had fun while she was out here. Thanks Wendy for taking the time off work to come out and spend some time with us! We really appriciate it! And we were so excited to find out that Harmony(z's sister) and Brody(harms's hubby) are going to be coming out in November. They will not only be here for thanksgiving, but my birthday as well(which just happens to be on thanksgiving day this year) We are so excited for them to come out! Can't wait to see you guys!!!

Boston's Accident

Over the weekend we decided to take Boston and Z's mom, Wendy(who is visiting), to a beach park to take some fun pictures of Grandma and the kids. After about 5 minutes of playing and taking pictures Boston smashed his face in a bench. His teeth went straight through his lip. We rushed him to the ER where we waited for 3.5 hours to see a doctor and then another hour to see the oral surgeon where they then told us that his front tooth is fractured and it will either go dead or fall out, which would mean he would have to get a little retainer with a fake tooth on it till his permanent tooth comes in. We are hoping that his permanent tooth is ok, but we won't know for sure till it grows in. He also might need to have a tissue graph done on his gums because the gums above his front tooth was shredded off. We are lucky that nothing worse happend but as you can see from the pictures, its pretty bad. Boston has been such a trooper. They didn't want to put him under in order to do stitches, so we are hoping it will just heal on its own. If not then we will have to go back to the ER to get his lips stitched up. The only thing they said we can do is keep him medicated for the pain and he is on a liquid and soft food diet for the next 2 weeks. He tries really hard to smile, but his lip is just so swollen so he has a hard time. What a brave little boy he is!

The Bird

I just had to post these pictures of Marley. Lately she has been "flipping the bird" quite a bit and its just so funny to see her sweet little face smile up at you and then she flips you off. HAHA! What a character! Other things Marley is up to include
  1. She has rolled over a few times (and scared me to death each time. HAHA)
  2. She says "hi" and "hello" its the craziest thing in the world (video coming soon)
  3. She eats anywhere between 5-8 oz every feeding every 3 hours. I don't know where it all goes!
  4. Her reflux has gotten SO SO SO much better, thank goodness!
  5. She talks no-stop all the time. She is a jibber-jabber!
  6. She loves being held out so she can see everything going on around her
  7. She is the happiest in the early morning and late at night!
  8. She has started to get used to sleeping at night, which is a huge blessing for me
  9. She has the worst gas I think any baby has ever had. She farts more than an old man!!!
  10. She is one of the happiest baby that I have ever known

Saturday's Adventure

Saturday we decided to go exploring for a while and so we drove along the south shore to see if we could find any new cool beaches. We were able to find a TON of cool new places, but all along the south side there were signs up saying that there were portuguese man-of-war in the water so we decided to head back up to Hanauma Bay. We had a blast! Boston is getting more comfortable with getting splashed in the face by the waves and loves loves loves playing in the sand. Marley just chilled while Z and I took turns playing with Boss. We can't wait for Marley to be old enough to come in the water with us!

Friday night at the Park

Friday night we went to the park across the street from our house. We are so lucky to live so close to so many fun things! We are constantly going on walks and Boston loves pushing Marley in her stroller. And every few minutes he stops playing on the play ground and checks on her to make sure she is ok. Its so cute!

My kids are my Life!

I am so so so grateful for my kids. Yes, I think we can all agree that parenthood is one of the toughest jobs in the world, but it is also the most rewarding. My kids have changed my life in such a positive way. Being a mom has made me grow up very fast and made me realize what things are important to me. They are the reason why I get up every morning and the reason why I smile everyday. I know that everyday isn't a walk in the park, but I can honestly say I learn something new from both of them each day. They are so precious to me! I watch Boston playing with Marley and almost everytime I think to myself, how was I so blessed to have 2 amazing kids. Boston is such a good big brother, always wanting to hold Marley, giving her kisses and hugs, and making sure she has her binky at all times. I love my kids more then anything in the world and I don't know where I would be without them!

World's Best Husband

So today Zach told me that he didn't have to go into work until 10 am because he had to stay until 10 pm and so we decided to go out to breakfast. After eating we took Boston to the park to play. He ended up scraping up his knee so we came home and got it cleaned up. While Boss and I were on the couch hanging out Z hurried over and said we needed to leave right that minute. I was really confused, but I followed him to the car. We started driving down towards waikiki, which confused me even more considering he had to be to work in 30 minutes. We got to a stop light and he told me to get out of the car, go into the building next to us and call when I was done. I was so confused!!! I hurried and jumped out of the car and went into this building and saw that it was a Day Spa. Not just any Day Spa, but the #1 ranked spa in all of Hawaii. I went to the front desk and told them my name and they said that Zach had set up a full body massage, full body scrub, and a facial. I was in complete shock. He ended up not having to be into work until 3 that afternoon so he set all of it up for me as a surprise. It was AMAZING! Its just what I needed. He sure takes the prize for the most amazing husband ever! He is so considerate and is so understanding of my feelings and needs and him setting this whole thing up showed me that! Thank you Z for an amazingly relaxing day. You are very very sneaky! I love you and am so grateful for you. What a guy!!!

Update

Just wanted to update some of the recent pictures that I have been taking of the kids! Boston is growing up so fast. I find myself constantly looking at old baby pictures of him and thinking how fast time has gone by. Marley is now 2 months old and I can't believe it! Thanks to my mom for making this adorable hat. Boston enjoyed it when he was a baby (picture#1) and now Marley has too. Thanks for being so crafty. I know without you my kids would be missing out on a TON of cute things.

Boston's Batman Room

So we decided to get Boston an early b-day present. He loves Batman and so we got everything for a batman room. Pillowcase, fleece blanket, sheets, comforter, window curtains, shelf, backerest pillow, batmobil pillow, chairs and table, stepstool for bathroom, etc. We got it all on craigslist for $45. Do we know how to find deals or what!!! Boston is loving his new room and we are so glad!

Our little Tinkerbell

So i have had this Build-a-Bear Tinkerbell costume ever since I worked there and so I thought it would be fun to take it off Marley's Bear and put it on her. She looks so stinking cute in it!

Splish Splash

Just wanted to post some pictures of Marley's first time at the pool. She of course had a blast!

Just some more fun pictures

So this weekend we decided to take it easy. Marley has now developed colic and so I am running on practically no sleep and so this weekend Zach took care of Boss for me in the morning, since he wakes up at 5:30 every morning, and so I was able to sleep a little bit. We also went to the pool and hungout. Later Saturday night we went to this place called Dixie Grill, which we hadn't tried before and it has now become our new favorite place. The hambugers are so freaking amazing! Plus they have a sandbox that Boss can play in when he is done eating so we can finish our food without having to hear him yelling. Its great! Sunday night we decided to go to the beachpark next to our house and walk around while the sun set. I don't think I will ever get sick of this amazing place!

The Kids

Just wanted to post some more pictures of the kids for all the grandparents and aunts and uncles. Thanks to Grandma Sandy who bought Marley this adorable shirt. And to Nanette and my Mom for making all the cute headbands that Marley has! Love you guys!

Our Smiley Girl

Update on our Marley girl...She still has really bad reflux, but in a couple of weeks we are going to get her started on her first round of medication. Hopefully it will work! She still isn't sleep at night, so it has been kinda hard lately. She now smiles all the time and has rolled over a few more times (her first time she was 2 weeks old). She loves being outside with her big brother and absolutely loves being carried face out so she can be a part of everything going on.

One step at a time

So lately I have felt so overwhelmed! Marley still isn't sleeping at night, so I am averaging 2 1/2 hours of sleep every night. I am so far past exhaustion...I am in zombie mode. The other day I decided I was going to take a break from all the house cleaning, laundry, dishes, cooking, and everything else and just sit with the kids. We all ended up falling asleep on our LoveSac and when I woke up the kids were still sound asleep so I decided to take some pictures. I have always loved baby feet and so I thought it would be fun to get some pics of Boss and Marley's feet. After looking at the pictures it made me think of something my mom told me right after I had Marley. If you take each day one step at a time everything will be fine. Thanks mom, for all the great advice you give me!

1 month Already!

We can't believe its already been a month since we had Marley! She is getting so big and changing so much already. Time is flying by! Boston has become more frustrated with the amount of time I have to spend nursing Marley, so we have tried to take him to the park as much as possible as a reward when he is patient. He has done a great job adjusting to having her around except for the occasional freak-out. We are so grateful for 2 amazing kids! And I want to say a special thank you to Zach who has helped so much the past month. You are the best babe!

Marley Update

For those of you who knew Boston as a baby, you are aware of how bad his reflux was. Well we were hoping to be lucky enough not to have to deal with that problem again... no such luck! Marley has reflux worse than Boston, if you can believe it. She doesn't go more then a few minutes without some sort of spit up. As you can see in the pictures...I got her all cleaned up in the bath and started to take some pictures and about 3 minutes after we started she decided to spit up all over herself and the pillow underneath her. And take into consideration...this spitup isn't even that bad! Thank goodness she loves bath time because she usually takes 2 a day in order to keep her from smelling like throwup all day and night.
She also has her nights and days still mixed up, just like Boston did. Boston didn't start sleep at night till about 3 months old and so I am really hoping it doesn't take that long with Marley. If it doesn I don't know how long I will last. I have been functioning on 2 1/2 hours of sleep every night. It is starting to get to me and I am really hoping for some relief soon. I knew that having 2 kids under the age of 2 would be difficult. I just didn't realize how difficult. Thanks to all the family for support. I don't know what I would do without all of you.
Marley has also surprised us by learning how to roll over at 3 weeks old. I am just so glad that she didn't roll off anything! She is no longer the calm, docile child we thought we had. That lasted about 3 days. She is now just as active, if not more then Boston was. She has been able to hold her head up since she was 2 days old. She is very strong! I have a feeling she is going to be just as crazy and energetic as Boston, and that can only mean one thing....TROUBLE!

Zach's 23rd Birthday Celebration

So on July 8th Z celebrated his 23rd birthday. He had to go to work and so we made sure to celebrate once he got home. Boston helped me by making and decorating 23 cupcakes for Z. We ate some really good steak and steak fries for dinner and then after lit the candles on his cupcakes and sang happy birthday. Boston was totally into the fire. HAHA! After Z blew out all the candles we gave Boss a cupcake to try and he didn't really like it. What kid doesn't like chocolate frosting??? Apparently our kid. After we cleaned Boss up we headed to ColdStone to get some strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It was delicious!
Z bought himself an early birthday present, A new video camera, and so we decided to just get him something small. I know how much Z likes belgium waffles so I bought a waffle maker. We tried it out and it makes awesome waffles. Oh and just FYI: the last picture is of Boston covering his ears because he doesn't like listening to Marley cry. It is hilarious!

Fun with Grandma Cahoon

So for the past 2 1/2 weeks my mom has been out here helping us adjust to having another baby around. She has sacrificed so much in order to be here including missing my dad's 50th birthday and their anniversary. We are so grateful to her and my dad for letting us steal away so much time. It has been so great having my mom here. We have gone to the beach, the zoo, the park, the movies, the pool, etc. Boston has loved having someone to play with while me and Zach are taking care of Marley. Thanks again so much mom for taking so much time out of your life in order to spend it with us. We love and appreciate all that you do. And thanks dad for allowing us to have mom here for such a long period of time. I know that it wasn't easy having your sweetheart so far away for so long.
